Pair of Chairs

This past month I found a pair of antique side chairs at an estate sale for a bargain that I just couldn't pass up. I loved the curved back and petite size of the chairs, but the dated gold fabric and tufting was the first to go. I had them reupholstered in a neutral canvas fabric and painted the tapered legs white for a fresh new look.

Here's how they look in a home I recently staged

And here's how they looked before...

It's amazing how new fabric and a little paint brought these chairs back to life.

What do you think of the transformation?

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!

A Fixer Upper: Before & After

I had the pleasure of working on this fun remodel project recently. This split-level
5 bedroom, 3 bath stucco home was built in the mid nineties and seriously needed an overhaul.

Starting with the exterior, we painted the pale pink color and went with fresh white paint, we added brick around the bottom of the house, changed out the wood railing to iron on the front porch, installed a new wooden door and lanterns, then completely started over with all new landscape and a back deck.

Next, on the interior we ripped up the parquet and vinyl flooring, took down the dated wallpaper and lighting, removed old counter tops and replaced them with new granite and marble, refaced all the cabinets with new doors and paint, installed new hardwood and tile, painted the whole house a neutral color, removed the textured ceilings for smooth ceilings, added detailed trim, reworked the stairs with oak treads, added all new oil rubbed bronze hardware throughout, and then we added a beautiful new back splash in the kitchen.

Now this house is completely updated and ready to move in! I'm certain this house won't stay on the market very long.

Just a Swingin'

We've always enjoyed relaxing on our back porch as a family, even more now that we have a new back porch swing!

My sweet little one would rather be outside playing than anywhere else.

It's been so much fun decorating this outdoor space, that's a nice extension of our house.

Here's a post about our patio makeover from a few years ago.

Mudroom Bench

I've been on the lookout for a wooden mudroom bench with storage for my garage. I found one recently that fit the budget and was the perfect fit! After adding baskets, pillows, and accessories this little corner of my garage will be something we use daily.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Fourth of July weekend!

Before and After: Coffee Table + End Tables

I'm back today to share a few more makeovers that I've been working on lately. This vintage coffee table- end table set was in excellent condition and had so much potential. It was just waiting to be updated and lightened with a coat of paint. This whole set sold within a minute after posting on a trading site!

Side Table Makeover

Hey there! This weekend I ventured out to a few sales in search of vintage furniture to paint. I was lucky enough to come across some great pieces to bring home!

First up is this little $20 bookshelf that I turned into a side table for our living room. It's a perfect fit beside our sofa.

This piece replaced a taller round drum table that we've had awhile; so it's nice to have a different look in a room we use everyday.

For this makeover I went with a light gray distressed finish.

This week I'll be sharing more furniture finds!

Chippy Highchair

This well-loved highchair was one of the many weekend finds that I shared about last week. I wanted a distressed and worn look for this piece- to help add a little vintage charm.

I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

Here's what it looked like before.

Now, it's just waiting for my daughter to dine.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
